All,
To clarify:
Asking generalized questions at the
beginning of a survey can
give you a (better) sense
of who your current members are,
as well as get (more) folks
thinking
about dialing in
to Mendocino County's
local Community Radio Station, KZYX/Z
. . . As well as inform you
as to "what it would take"
to attract audience,
(whether they're dialing back in . . .
or for the first time).
The mere act of conducting a survey
gets listeners interested again.
The survey itself should stimulate interest
in listening to the radio,
and
by asking
who they are,
and their tastes and preferences,
the station in general is viewed
in a better light.
Include a membership/donation form
in surveys you mail out.
Some stations enroll their programmers,
who table at various locations
and announce on their shows
when/where they will be doing so.
Makes it fun, promotes your show . . .
+
It's a nice way to actually meet your audience!
~C.
