[Rotary] Rotarians Joe and Ruth Sparks

Dear Rotarians and friends,


I received news this afternoon that Mendocino Rotarian Joe Sparks passed away this morning.  His daughter and granddaughter were with him at the time of his peaceful passing.   Joe was devoted member of the Mendocino Rotary Club and the ideals of Rotary.  He was the force behind the founding of our Mendocino High School Interact Club.  Above all, a gracious gentleman and friend to us all.   I also had the privilege of having Joe as my neighbor, sponsor and treasured friend.   
Unfortunately, Joe’s wife Ruth Sparks, a member of the Fort Bragg Rotary Club, as well as many other community groups, is also in the hospital and is now receiving comfort care.  According to a family member, she is not expected to leave the hospital.    Both Ruth and Joe have participated and given so much to our community in various ways.   They are already missed.
