Much thanks to one of our newest members Mike Garratt and past president
Donna Schuler for helping weed and water in our park this month. Nearly
all of our plantings have survived, and most are thriving but will need
regular watering this summer as they get fully established. Together we
have pulled more than a dozen 5 gallon buckets of weeds, and watered
everything at least twice.
Highway cleanup will be next Saturday June 4. We will meet at the Hill
House, in their east parking lot facing Highway 1. Look for my battered
green pickup, with bags, grabbers, and vests in the back. Bring sturdy
boots, gloves, and drinking water. One group will start at 8 AM and work
from the stoplight to Jack Peters Creek bridge and back. Group 2 starting
at 9 AM will cover from the stoplight south to the Grove Campground and
back. We are not required to pick up trash on the bridge, and if you do be
extremely alert to traffic. It is best to work in pairs.
Let me know if you plan to help, and which time is best for you.
