[Rotary] Subject: Celebrating Columbus Day

Brandy for breakfast?  Perhaps a brandy as we lower it instead?

Though Columbus hailed from Genoa Italy, he sailed for Spain and claimed
the lands for the Spanish crown, much to the detriment of the indigenous
peoples whose lands were plundered.  To me this is as sobering of a
"holiday" as Memorial Day.  Honor the past, and pray that we learn from it
and plan for a better future.
