[Rotary] Subject: Rotary Board Meeting this Thursday

Dear Rotarians, 
I met with Susan today and we are set for an enjoyable and social meeting tomorrow at her home, with the address below. We will have pizza, beer, wine, soft drinks and water, and hopefully stay on a little after the meeting which will be at 12:00 Thursday 24 September to socialize.
We will return so far as we are able to old physical meeting events, with check-in, fines actually collected, a raffle etc. Mike Sandys will bring the pizza and I will do setup. We do not have either a Club Services chair or committee so help one of you can help set up, help with parking, greet guests and cleanup when we are done.
Some have raised the safety and legality issues. My take and this is as you know from a person who is being more careful than most that we can meet safely if we distance and wear masks except when eating or drinking. The County limit on social bubbles is as of yesterday 12 persons. We have a Board of 11, and can expect that a few of these may not attend while a few regular members would also attend. So we are thinking of a gathering of about 12 persons. If there are more, we can constitute two social bubbles, one of the Board and one of other members. 
I got the address wrong in my earlier e-mail. Please see Susan's message below for the correct address and directions. It is a way out there.
Parking is limited but on the other hand we do not want large groups in the confined space of a vehicle. I suggest if you live close to another Rotarian ask them if the would like to travel with you, two to a car, with masks. If you cannot do that, arrive a little earlier and we will find a parking space. Look for me in the parking area as I will be directing traffic.
As so often happens, the water supply and wifi at the house are on the blink, and Susan does not want us to use the bathroom or enter the house, for safety reasons. So please relieve yourselves before you depart home. We will have water and sanitizers available. 
We have important issues to consider, including the candidacy three prospective members, the Covid 19 project, our fund raising effort, outreach to youth and the business community and fall social  activities.  We need a quorum of the Board to discuss and decide upon these. 
Let's have fun, and enjoy  the meeting. My thanks to Susan Keller and Richard Green for stepping forward, and lets hope this works so we can do it again.

 Hi Jeff:The address is 40450 Little River Airport Road. It is hard to find if there are no directions.  Go to the top of Comptche Ukiah Rd.  The first road to the right is Little River Airport Rd.  Go down about half a mile.  There is a driveway on the right that goes up the hill almost parallel to the road. There is a white arrow at the bottom of it.   It is across from a bunch of mailboxes on the left, one of which is mine.  I am the first drive on the right.  I am the house at the top of the drive.  There is lots of room outside. The home number is 937-6235. You might want to forward this to everyone.  Susan

I just sent off the below when I got another piece of relevant news. The County Health Dept has increased as of yesterday (Sept 22) the size of the allowable "stable bubble" to 12. We have 11 Board members, and a few may miss the meeting. I am hoping others who have not been zooming or who have things to present to the Board will attend, so we should be around 12 persons in total. If we are over 12 we will create a second "stable bubble".

I note your concerns and perhaps this is something we should discuss as a club.
We would be outside, respect the 6'distance rule and wear masks except when we are eating or drinking. 
I have a microphone app for my iPhone which we tried to use in our last meeting in the park, now I know how it works and it is LOUD!!
We will bring sanitizers, relax and have fun.
There will be an opening gong, and we will collect fines.
If some people cannot/will not come perhaps we can do a hybrid meeting with zoom using Susan's wifi.

I did a little checking, again, to see if we could use an outdoor park venue for our Board meeting this Thursday, and found that the County Health Department limit on a gathering of unrelated persons is 6 which cuts out park venues. I called North Coast Brewery, which has a large dining area in their parking lot, and asked the same question: could we be allocated an area there where we could hold our meeting, and the answer was "no" due to County Health Dept restrictions.
Susan Keller and Toby Wade have both volunteered to let us their properties for an outdoor meeting with social distancing and masks. We can have pizza as we did when we met in June. I will bring pizza and water, a table to serve them on and a table for Rotary stuff. Also beer and wine.
We will meet at 12:00 as usual. Setup at 11:30, could use another person to help out.
This is a chance to get some of our members who do not zoom get involved again in our club. 
Agenda will cover funds drive, membership drive, social events, honorary membership for Suzanne Zehm, the Covid-19 project and events in the Park.
Please let me or Mike know if this doesn't work for you, or if you have other items for the agenda. If Thursday at Susan's doesn't work for some of us who work we could probably meet on Saturday.
