[Rotary] Thursday's Zoom Meeting

Hi Rotarians,

I will not be at the Zoom Meeting today.  Cathy's dad, Bill, passed away
at 95 on Tuesday.  He was a resident of Sherwood Oaks, who do a wonderful
job.  I am helping my wife deal with this situation by contacting Sherwood
Oaks, Chapel-by-the-Sea, family and friends.  If you want to support her
with any donation, please make a donation to the Mendocino Coast Humane
Society in his name.  Her dad, Bill Van Riper, was a long time resident of
the Coast and a lover of animals.

Club Reports:

Fund Raising; No funds from either the John P. or Toby mailings have come
in since the last meeting.  The total amount to date is just over $5000. 
The President's Challenges has raised, to-date, about $600.  Some members
feel we should not be fund raising funds at this time.  I, totally
disagree.  The money we have raised was given to the Children's Fund, the
Food bank and Sherwood Oaks for Covid-19 programs, none was used by the
Club for any Administration Activities.  All the money we raise is
returned to various community non-profits and community youth programs. 
We have also supported some international programs, which could possibly
be delayed to help our local needs.

Rotary Park; We are planning a live MRF Board meeting at Rotary Park on
Tuesday May 26th at noon to discuss plans for completing our building of
Rotary Park.  We will maintain the latest County Covid-19 regulations
during the meeting.  Lunch is on you and it should be eaten after the
Meeting Agenda discussions are completed.
