[Rotary] Subject: Rotary Raffle - Good News -  News!

Dear Rotarians,
We held together as a club and as friends this very difficult year, and can close it thankful that we have all kept a positive outlook and remained healthy during this terrible Covid-19 pandemic. 
On Wednesday we had the drawing for the Restaurant Raffle, and...Donna Schuler's son Monterey drew the winning ticket. He was caught unawares since Donna had not told him she was buying a ticket for him, but he was very happy and I cannot think of a better person to win the prize. As shown in the attached photo I gave the certificates to Donna on Christmas eve, and now she and her family have a substantial number of good dining experiences to look forward to. 
The raffle was successful due to the efforts of most of our club members, who went out and sold tickets and/or bought gift certificates. Ray Alarcon was our focal point, who got the tickets out to each of us, kept track of progress, checked and bundled up the tickets and funds received, and sold an outstanding number of tickets himself. Please join me in extending our heartfelt thanks to Ray for the support he provided. 
I will be turning the checks and cash received to Harold on the weekend, but it looks to me for now that we have made our financial target of $8600 and possibly more. 
We are going to write each person who bought a ticket, thanking them for their contribution to our club, but please do let each ticket purchaser know the outcome of the drawing, and thank them personally.
We accomplished a lot last year, and the funds received will let us continue to serve the community in our town, in our region and abroad.
