[Rotary] This Week in Rotary

As promised, I am handing over the helm this week.  Perpetual Past
President Honer as agreed to do more restitution for meetings missed, so he
will grab the gavel at noon this Thursday the 16th.

Walt McKeown is this weeks guest speaker, and will certainly entertain as
he waxes eloquently about ways to survive and even prosper in California's
drought.  Walt is a retired meteorologist and a general science nut who
knows how to spice up a conversation.  If you have heard him speak at
Gallery Books or read his articles, you know a treat is in store.

There was a small but enthusiastic crowd at  last Thursday's evening
meeting.  Lacking a quorum, I postponed the vote on loan forgiveness to
Rotary Park.  Next Thursday Oct 23 at noon the final discussion and a vote
will be held on this important item.  We will look over this year's budget
and the implications of various fundraiser scenarios.  We will also honor
World Polio Day, which is Oct 24.

Our next club Board meeting is Nov 10, Monday at noon in the Mendocino
Hotel.
