Those of you who made it to last week's meeting know some of this, but
read anyway as there is more of importance that is new:

1. A majority of club members voted to require RSVP before missing a
meeting. This will allow accurate ordering of food, avoiding waste or
running short. Also please RSVP if you are bringing guests, also if
you are hosting the speaker let us know whether they are bringing
companions.

If you miss a meeting and have failed to RSVP by 9 AM the day of the
meeting, be prepared to pay $15 for the missed meal at the next
meeting.

2. In order to expedite the above, a separate email has been set up
by Jennifer. It is Mendocinorotary at gmail.com and is exclusively for
this purpose. There is no need to RSVP if you are coming, only if you
will miss that week or will bring guests.

3. Jennifer Bosma is taking a 6 month leave of absence effectively
immediately. She needs to spend more time with her family, and feels
that this is the best way to do it. In 6 months she will let us know
what the future holds for her in regards to Rotary. Please minimize
emails to her about this terribly tough decision. We will pass a card
around at our next meeting to express our appreciation to her.

4. Since Jen will not be doing it, I need someone to tally the RSVP's
each Thursday morning at 9 AM, then call Margaret Fox or her designee
with the count. I can do it this week but I need a volunteer please.

5. Anyone else needing a Leave of Absence please notify the Club
Secretary and this will obviate the need for weekly RSVP until your
return.

6. Our regular Thursday meeting on Sept 4 will be the promised
discussion about Rotary Park. We expect to have the MOU proposal from
the county by then, as well as at least one option as to land title
holder. We will use the same format that Heather and Kevin used in
their recent presentation, and wish to focus on what we Rotarians hope
to see our Park become, in physical appearance and in the variety of
events hosted.

7. Our Regular Thursday meeting Sept 11 will be the annual visit by
our District Governor, Kevin Eisenberg. If you attended Charter Night
early this year you know he is a dynamic and entertaining speaker. He
will be announcing a surprise Paul Harris award, so don't miss this
one, it might be you! If you are close, Kevin Williams can let you
know how to become a recipient that day along with the surprise
honoree.

This was long, but you can see why. I hope to see you soon, and
appreciate your support.

President John
