Cecile, I don't expect them to come around any time soon or even at all.
I just flip around the dial sometimes while I'm driving and stop on KZYX
and it's always so awful. And the /reruns/. I'm only listening a
fraction of the time, usually late at night, and just about ever time
it's something I heard before. Those people get the priceless, nearly
unassailable gift of free use of three frequencies. That medium belongs
to everyone; it's a natural resource. And MCPB literally /sucks/ at
managing it. They hire a series of frauds who know nothing about radio
to be the hood ornament, and nothing improves and nothing changes. It's
been almost thirty years, now.
You're right; they are dominating control freaks. Can anyone think of
the names of three people who ever spoke critically of management at
KZYX and got to keep their airtime? Can you think of a single one?
That's tyranny.
Meanwhile, Jerry just wired in a better mixing board at KNYO. Stop by
and check it out. And if you have any pennies left over after helping
KMUD, think of KNYO, running just fine on 1/60 of the mysteriously
bloated budget of KZYX.
