Dear Ms. Woelfle-Erskine,
I understand you're starting a new process of scheduling new shows and programmers. If that's true,
I'd like to make a few suggestions.
1. Get an organizational chart from your immediate superior. Make sure it's signed by the president
of the Board of Directors. And documented in the written minutes of an open meeting. As approved
in the written minutes of a subsequent meeting. That way you'll know who's supposed to be calling
the shots. Versus who's actually calling them.
2. Run a routine background check on everyone above you. Starting with each resume. Check all
degrees claimed at www.studentclearinghouse.org. Get references and check them too. You might
be in for a surprise.
3. Ask for a copy of MCPB's Directors and Officers insurance policy. Check anything you get with
your insurance agent. This'll be easy. Because you won't get anything. Then make sure to ask for a
written indemnification agreement. Signed by the Board of Directors. Just like #1. That'll be just as
easy. Because you won't get that either.
4. Get a copy of the U.S. Constitution. Look up the first amendment. The one about free speech.
Then ask your immediate superior how that applies to programming at KZYX. And how it's been
applied to programmers in the past. People with a spine. Like Marco McClean, Doug McKenty and
John Sakowicz.
5. Look at the Form 990s on the KZYX website. Filed under penalty of perjury. Especially the part
swearing that no audited financial statements had been prepared. Then look at the audited financial
statements. You can't miss them. There are five of them in a row. 2010 through 2014. Then look at
Schedule O on each of the Form 990s. Where it says that 'No review was or will be conducted.' And
ask your immediate superior a question. 'What's the purpose of that?'
6. Last but not least. Check the website for all the 2016 board meeting minutes. That won't take
you much time at all. Because they don't exist.
Then before you make any actual decisions on programming, be sure to consider items 1 through 6.
Sincerely,
Scott M. Peterson
