[Kzyxtalk] discretion, the better part of cowardice

Dear Tim,

Pardon me for being confused. As I recall you invited me to be a guest on your late

night KZYX radio show. To read a complete passage -- word-for-word -- from

something you'd written here. It contains the word 'asshole'. But as I understand

it, saying that word is against both KZYX Station Policy and Federal Law. Exceptions

can be made, but only with advance permission from the KZYX station manager. In

writing. So that's what I asked for. From both you and the KZYX station manager. I

never got a response from either one of you.

As I'm certain you're aware, there's ample broadcasting delay for you and/or the

program engineer to remove any bad language. Which I'm certain would happen

to any of your guests. And then you'd be required to throw them off the air. So it

seems like kind of a set-up to me. Not to mention a complete waste of our time.

And exactly why I asked for KZYX's written permission to use that word.

Also, I don't recall naming the station manager. The fact is, I can't. Furthermore,

I don't believe you can. Lorraine Dechter -- in spite of her politeness and best

intentions -- is a puppet. In a very sad puppet show. Where the puppets get mad

at the audience for not taking them seriously. And then direct bad language and

insults at them. Just like you did here.

Norman DeVall -- ndv as you say -- has done more for public radio here than your

puppet masters could ever dream of. You can come here and speak your mind,

Tim. Anyone can. Can you say as much for the programmers listserv? Or the one

for the Board of Directors? Of course not. You can't even do that on your own

radio show. Because you're spineless, Tim.

Let me close with the words of one of your fellow programmers. Whose work I

respect. And someone who actually has a spine. Marco McClean: "But, Tim, you

know you'll never be kicked off your show or out of the station, because you're a

true sycophant. The proof: your show is consistently objectively lousy."

There. All of that was done without forbidden words. In language I'd be glad to

repeat on any radio show. Word-for-word.

Sincerely,

Scott M. Peterson

Mendocino

go ahead and use it?'

smp, being more than a bit confused, and radio-shy, wants me to speak to lorraine
FOR him, so he can say 'asshole' on-air...sorry, not gonna happen, smp.

smp also says 'I'm not claiming any 'followers'. Just truth and civility.' to which
i'm saying, 'bwahahaha!'

no, smp, thus far you are only john sakowicz' latest stooge.

..nonprofits in Mendocino County are doubling every five years .. so get your game
face on KZYX .. put on your shortest skirt .. your tightest blouse .. lipstick ..

there's always bankruptcy'...

having admin-ed a contentious site, i know it means work to keep haters in check--or
lose them if they can't throw a towel over it...
you seem to have attracted a critical mass of assholes to yourself so far, and not
much else...'
