Dear Ms. Courtney,

This is a continuation from the GuideStar article here:

http://trust.guidestar.org/blog/top-strategic-mistakes-nonprofits-make-part-2

The seventh one listed is 'Failing to encourage feedback'.

You had some feedback. Back in July of 2014. About John Sakowicz. At a

Board of Directors meeting. Here are your meeting minutes:

http://kzyx.org/Board/7-7-14%20KZYX%20MINUTES%20WILLITS.pdf

Here are your exact words: "Meg: Read a written comment about Mr.

Sakowicz's claim that he acts out of 'conscience' when he writes to the

FCC, publicly criticizes GM & staff, and appears to have a LACK of

conscience when it comes to the hurtful/harmful results of his actions."

Mr. Sakowicz wasn't alone, Ms. Courtney. Read your own minutes. A survey

had just revealed that 30% of KZYX's members were unhappy. And that was

reported by Paul Lambert. That's a lot of negative feedback. Not just

from John Sakowicz. Those meeting minutes are from July 7, 2014. They

were approved on November 3. Where are they now, Ms. Courtney?

Look at the KZYX website:

http://www.kzyx.org/index.php/about-us/station-business/meeting-minutes

Oh, my! Those meeting minutes are missing, aren't they? So all

that negative feedback went away. From the KZYX website. Then it

showed up in the Anderson Valley Advertiser. The Ukiah Daily

Journal. And on Mendocino TV. And it wasn't just Mr. Sakowicz

either. You got negative feedback from editors and producers.

All because of failing to encourage feedback.

Sincerely,

Scott M. Peterson

Mendocino
