Re discrepancy in number of words in Programming Policies:
Many thanks to Scott for finding a version online that included the appendices. Please note that the version I posted did not include them. That is why it is shorter. All else appears the same. In this instance I see no effort to hide anything.

this is interesting .. the Programming Policy here -- dated December 9, 2008 -- is 1,706 words long .. I copied / pasted
into Microsoft Word to get that count .. I did the same for the Programming Policy here:
http://media.kzyx.org/mp3/Policies/_MCPB%20Programming%20Policy.pdf
also dated December 9, 2008 .. but the word count is 2,651 ..
all the MCPB meeting minutes are here:
http://www.kzyx.org/index.php/about-us/station-business/meeting-minutes
I haven't seen any minutes where the board of directors amended this policy .. but maybe I'm missing something ..
so I'm copying this via email to Lorraine and Raoul with three questions:
--- which 945 words were removed from the Programming Policy dated December 9, 2008? ..
--- who approved that removal? ..
--- who did the proof reading on the new Programming Policy? (it's KZYX & Z, not KYX &Z) ..
also FYI, all approved MCPB policies can be found here:
http://media.kzyx.org/mp3/Policies/
that includes the 2,651 word Programming Policy ..
.
Many thanks to Lorraine and Raoul for putting time and energy into implementing the Programming Policy and the Program Advisory Council (see below). I am posting the policy itself so everyone knows what is involved. It was difficult to reformat for this list, but it is readable. The appendix referred to was even more difficult, so it is not included. Perhaps the full Programming Policy could be put on the website, along with the Bylaws. Perhaps all the policies could go there? Would make discussions easier, more productive.

The recording of last night's (2016-04-29) 107.7fm KNYO (and 105.1 KMEC)
Memo of the Air: Good Night Radio show is available to download and
listen to via http://MemoOfTheAir.wordpress.com
Scott Peterson called at 9:30 (half an hour into the show) and we talked
for an hour about the glaring financial chicanery involved in Mendocino
County's nonprofit corporations in general and the ones that run the
Coast Hospital and KZYX in specific, who seem particularly prone to roll
over under the leadership of perpetrators of what some might call
obfuscatory ethical jiggery-pokery.
Also at http://MemoOfTheAir.wordpress.com you'll find a plethora of
links to not necessarily radio-useful but worthwhile things to see and

I just found this little gem:
"T Gregory: Previous CAGs failed because the most interested parties were programmers,
and could not serve on the CAG (on advice from a lawyer in DC). Board is discussing
CAG requirements, not talking about hearing from the public. I question the authenticity
of the effort. It's seen as a formality, with everything round-filed.
it's from KZYX meeting minutes here:
http://www.kzyx.org/images/pdf/mtg_minutes/KZYX%20Board%20mtg%20minutes%2012-08.pdf
The 'CAG' here stood for 'Community Advisory Group' .. which I'm assuming is the 'CAB' or
'Community Advisory Board' we have today ..
so in summary -- according to a DC lawyer -- programmers shouldn't serve on the CAB ..
which takes us to Bob Bushansky and Stuart Campbell .. Mr. Bushansky is now a programmer ..
with a very exciting show titled, 'Politics - a Love Story' .. So is Mr. Campbell .. with a riveting
show of his own titled, 'Consider This' .. all reported on the KZYX website here:
http://www.kzyx.org/Board/KZYX%20State%20of%20the%20Station%20Report%20January%202016.pdf
so assuming this 'lawyer in DC' knows what they're talking about -- how can two programmers
serve on the Community Advisory Board? .. and if they're not serving on the CAB, then who is?
.

The CAG was the old vernacular for the current CAB. Hard to keep it all together sometimes...
I don't think Campbell is on the CAB, just Bushansky.

Marco's got a useful recollection of where the wheels came off at KZYX .. right around the 1:00 mark:
http://MemoOfTheAir.wordpress.com
it sounds to me like Sean Donovan -- buffaloed -- KZYX directors into thinking they had no authority to
run KZYX .. thus subjugating themselves to the general manager .. which is where we are today ..
thanks, Marco! ..
