All managers need the benefit of the doubt.

But they also need management support. Not just turned loose like a certain predecessor.

This manager hit my radar after being quoted by a board officer. About KZYX being the most transparent radio station they'd ever been associated with.

Which is true in a sense. The only other radio station on their resume wasn't a nonprofit. It was a subsidiary of CSU Chico. A state agency.

Most of this individual's work history was at a nonprofit television station. Which was a helluva lot more transparent than KZYX has been.

As the old saying goes; the proof is in the putting. Let's see what kind of policy gets put into place on the next Form 990. And who's signature is on it.

Let's give Lorraine the benefit of the doubt here. We do not have all the information about these past events and difficulty getting grants in the past does not mean her input won't be helpful getting grants for the future.

She seems truly interested in getting programming on KZYX that will appeal to the broader community and result in recapturing the membership lost over the last decade. Let's give her a chance!

Doug

Then grant revenue dropped to less than 10% of what it'd been the previous year. So they left. Returning to the board there in 2009. Where grant revenue dropped from $61,686 in 2009 to $1,803 in 2012. So they left again. And came to work at KZYX! > > This isn't about the new GM at KZYX.
