Thanx for the memory, Marco.
If someone has an irresistible idea & a craving to host a kid show (or any other show) on KZYX, the first step would be to request a program proposal form from Raoul Van Hall, the new PD.
Everything passes, everything changes, just do what you think you should do....Bob Dylan said that.

Subject: [Kzyxtalk] If you go out in the woods today.
I just read Sheila Tracy's article in the web version of the Anderson
Valley Advertiser, about Will Smith and football concussions and Martin
Luther King: http://theava.com/archives/55228
I commented as follows:
In the early 1980s, after the Todds left and took their Teddy Bear
Picnic with them, Will Smith used to do a children's show on KMFB, eight
o'clock every Saturday morning. I'd listen in the kitchen when I was
cooking breakfast in Brannon's. He took many weeks to very slowly read
/The Call of the Wild/ in chapters, and the part that has stuck in my
auditory memory all this time is where "Buck was enraged." (Great
emphasis on the K sound; almost a whole word by itself.)
Whenever there's a tense situation, I hear Will Smith rumbling, "Buck
was enraged," and that makes the problem funny. Try it yourself; stretch
it out to about five seconds.
In the last years of KMFB (ending in late 2011) Liz Helenchild did the
children's show there (same 8am Saturdays). She's been trying for nearly
a decade to get the management of KZYX to let her do her kids' show
there. Mary Aigner was against it, so. Maybe it has a chance of
happening now.
