I agree with you about Jim Tarbell. He's a good person.
I copied an email inquiry to Jane Futcher on this subject 4/18. It was addressed to janefutcher [at] me.com.
I haven't heard back yet.
If a CPA was used for election results, there should be a written certification. I've seen no reference to anything like that.

I will tell you that Jim Tarbell is a man of integrity and am sure the board at the time was doing their best. They do seem to have a hard time finding qualified CPA's.  

I do not believe a CPA firm is used currently. Contacting election coordinator Jane Future should clear this up.
