Exactly BC. Mary has had to take so much flack precisely because she has the burden and responsibility of making all the programming decisions without the help of a solid programming advisory council. This council could make programming decisions at meetings open to the public. Doing so with transparency and membership input would prevent the kind of backlash she gets from people like Marco and the others in our community who's ideas have been turned down, including one who complained to the FCC. The current system at KZYX places a heavy burden on the program director that no one person should have to bear. It's too bad and causes much of the bad blood we are seeing in the community right now.

That person must take all the resources and present a smooth operation while involving the entire community. I couldn't do it nor could you. That kind of performance requires solid structure that must not accept the vagaries of poorly performing volunteer programmers who,by nature, are inconsistent and somewhat intermittent. If she was supported by a stern program committee who would support the scheduling and mission of volunteers she could take a breath occasionally. If you add a administrative crew who provide real network for smooth manageable operation and the station would smoothly continue it's growth to a real beacon to our evolving region.

Coate has been been wielding his "executive director" powers with an iron hand at KZYX for the last 10 years. Aigner has been at KZYX since the station was started 25 years ago. She has been on the payroll for most of that time and wielding her "program director" powers with an iron hand for the entire time she's been the program director.
