Players in the Prayer


Yes Toni, it doesn’t matter how or where,

still this morning

I wonder how to begin 

my prayer of gratitude.



Suddenly I feel it!

The spoon I hold is grateful for my hand that holds it,

grateful for my mouth that recognizes its usefulness, 

for the tool that shaped it,

for the miner that unearth the ore

and the smith that liberated the metal from the impurities

that kept it prisoner of the devil’s claws

bringing that Devil’s Metal to the light,

grateful for the earth that produced the ore

and for whoever, whomever, whatever created the earth.

The All?

Source?

God?

Us together in relationship?

Or maybe just little big Me!



Gratefully,

something else I am grateful for catches my eye:

an iridescent insect caught in a spiderweb,

struggling to get free.

Each, 

the beautiful insect, the spider, the web,

a prayer of gratitude.



Which one do I help?



I cannot help one without hurting the other.

Best do nothing,

for I cannot really change or alter anything,

all of it placed for a purpose

aiming at my awakening,

our awakening.



My awareness brings everything 

I am aware of 

to Source.



So being aware of being aware is

my prayer to Source this morning,

our prayer really,

for we all are The Prayer,

players in the prayer

answering

every prayer.
