I’ve been getting emails and texts from “USPS, UPS, CalTrans, etc., etc.”,
wanting payment, mailing address confirmation, and so forth.

The first question one must ask oneself is “Is this an entity that would
even have my contact information to begin with?”… As well as “Did I even
cross the Richmond Bridge on the aforementioned date?”, or whatever the
claim may be.

Regrettably, we live in an era where the basic assumption must be that our
pockets are trying to be picked, and that if we are unsure of who we’re
dealing with and why, it’s most likely bullshit.
