We are laid bare in a process bigger than anything we have knownand we must surrender our resistance if we are to be transformed by this process. So much unknown in this and yet, necessary for us to see something we couldn’t have seen otherwise. This metamorphosis, although, can be extemely difficult to withstand, is indeed a spritual initiation, as something dies, as in everything we thought was true, something else, more essential, is given and realized and can come more consciously alive in us. Your poem is a beautiful tribute to this journey, in all its gore and glory. And yes……A new foundation is forming from the unknown. Alchemy, Magic, Mystery, Grace all swirling around her, lifting her up. She smiles. with only love, TOn Apr 18, 2025, at 7:52 AM, Taylor Slevin via Thespiritexpress <thespiritexpress at lists.mcn.org> wrote:Hello Everyone,Here is the poem I read in class on Tuesday that many of you requested. Thank you. It is my lived version of the Myth of Inanna, which is no longer merely a myth to me. I felt moved to record my experience of the past month and this came to me during my morning journaling. Resurrection Losing her crown and her treasure of jewels, She descends. Shedding her fine clothing, She descends, arriving in the dark cave naked, vulnerable and frightened. She is hung on tender hooks where the birds of prey tear and wrench her very flesh from bone. Muscle, tendon, ligament all torn away. Nothing left but bare white bone; stark, sharp, exposed. She lifts her weary and exhausted skull saying, “It is finished. Into Your hands I commend my Spirit.”She completely surrenders, lets go and collapses onto the earth. Shattered. Broken. Alone. Mother Gaia holds her gently, supporting, soothing and rocking her sweetly. She allows the nurturing feeling. Slowly, ever so slowly She inhales the fertile, nourishing earth, taking in the gifts of minerals and rich nutrients so freely given. She raises her head and rises. A new foundation is forming from the unknown. Alchemy, Magic, Mystery, Grace all swirling around her, lifting her up. She smiles. 💗Taylor Sent from my iPhone_______________________________________________Thespiritexpress mailing listThespiritexpress at lists.mcn.orghttps://lists.mcn.org/mailman/listinfo/thespiritexpress
