I am sometimes asked this question about who can attend groups offered at Spirit House and for some reason
the idea that Spirit House Center For Attitudinal Healing is an exclusive group, tribe or family of individuals,
sort of club, or private organization etc. is instilled in some minds ~ I think this is due to the fact that we have offered groups
and various courses of a psycho-spiritual nature and lectures about health, healing, spirituality (not religion oriented) and entertainment normally
not found or certainly not on a sustainable basis in our community~.
~~ During the pandemic I received reflections of Spirit House Center For Attitudinal Healing
being a cult from people who had never attended an event or been here~~~~~.
~ Everyone pls. help to spread the word that Spirit House Center for Healing is a non-profit community organization~.
To be technical we are 501(c)(3) under Fed. statutes as a Charitable Organization~.
~ In other words ~ a Public Organization ~ That being said, what has been offered through the years is not for everyone~.
As with other organizations such as a church, a restaurant, or the gas station etc. anyone can pull in for services offered
but not everyone chooses the same one to attend on a regular basis ~
Example:
~Durning the Pandemic many were cast in a very harsh light by some who felt that those who were not vaccinated
were the problem and a scourge to society ~ people were scorned and even abandoned by friends and in some cases family ~ We hosted gatherings
for those to talk and discuss their fears ~ it was also attended by some who were vaccinated ~ no one was turned away~. However, those
gatherings were not advertised and were only by word of mouth due to safety concerns~. Some of this attending had never been to Spirit House~.
~ Many diverse events have been hosted under the Spirit House Center umbrella since 2005 all have been open events without discrimination
of sexual orientation, gender, religion, creed, color of skin or even disposition ~ the only exceptions
have been Men’s groups for Men and Women’s groups for Women and two totally drunk guys who were offered rides home~.
~ I have been asked by the Anya Jindrich, the director of the Cancer Resource Center to begin a Cancer support group for Men
and that is what this offering is~.
Please ask Laura to pass the notice to her friend and I urge other reading this to do the same ~ Sorry, Men only for this group~.
~ We may offer a 6 week program for men and women later in the fall~

I, personally, would be unable to attend the group due to scheduling conflicts. However, Laura, our friend who has attended the past couple of seasonal ceremonies with us, recently asked Tara if you had something of this nature for a male friend of hers who has been diagnosed. Are you open to attendees who aren’t currently part of the family?

Whether you are newly diagnosed, engaged in treatment, or dealing with post treatment concerns, Cancer Conversations offers a safe space to address what is true for you. This is a preferred in-person conversation on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. in the Yurt at Spirit House Center for Attitudinal Healing, 16550 Franklin Rd., Fort Bragg, CA 95437. Zoom attendance is possible ~ see below ~ The recommendation is to arrive in person ~ some may not be able to attend in person and this is taken into consideration~.
