Seasons Greetings to Our Beloved Spirit House Community,

Before the pile of envelopes from all the other worthy non-profits gets too high and it’s time to toss them in the fire and flip the calendar to 2025, we want to put in our bid for your support by asking you to please consider a generous tax deduction by donating to Spirit House. We really need it. More than ever.

So more on that…… this is a long read…..take a breath and have a moment. Sit back, relax and settle in…I can wait while you get a cup of something to sip on.

For nearly 20 years, we have managed to keep the candles burning and offer what we could to build community and provide a space for spiritual exploration, support and sharing. Over the past several years, contributions have declined but so has the frequency and attendance of our extra fundraising events. Because we received a substantial bequeath from Grace Fauntalin in 2019 we have been able to compensate (By Way of Grace scholarship funding) our volunteers, pay all our expenses and also contribute to other local non-profits and individuals, to support their visions. But now, we feel it’s only fair to be perfectly transparent about the situation here.

Sadly and also curiously and interestingly, we are looking at the possibility that 2025 may be the year we do a very deep bow, honor how all good things come to an end and apply the work we’ve been studying and practicing all these years, that of surrendering to “what is”, and the willingness to embrace all things.

Even as we still value our work here, and know “giving and receiving are the same,” we are also sobered by the reality that we ain’t getting any younger. And our demographic of folks are often on limited incomes and are already doing what they can. So we accept, allow and also appreciate, if the support is not forthcoming, then it may just be the time for us to do other things, and celebrate the good run and all we learned and loved while doing it.

We share this with you as we excitedly deck the halls and prepare to open Spirit House's beautiful doors (thank you Marc Yasskin) for the Winter Solstice Celebration this Saturday. We are also thrilled to present a year-end concert with Grammy nominee Manose on Dec. 28th. So the (heart) beat goes on. We so look forward to seeing you, many of whom have been celebrating with us, since the first ceremony, 18 years ago. These seasonal fundraisers are essential in terms of bringing in the extra support needed to keep the candles burning. We thank all of you who have participated in all the ways you have from the river of gratitude constantly flowing in our hearts.

Our Tuesday group is re-establishing itself with some new material as we dive into “Being Myself” a non-dual study by Rupert Spira. We completed the Pathwork’s “ Surrender to the God Within” in November, continuing another year of exploration and intensity, scouring our unconscious programing with humor and humility. Participants are attending in person, as well as many “zooming” from all over the country. Our Friday morning session attracted a few new members to the intimate and loyal group showing up to connect with movement, meditation and a brief “wuz up” check in, which has been a tremendous value for all who attend.

It goes without saying what we do here could not be done without all of you. Your presence and contributions are what keeps inspiring Spirit House events to happen. And we especially honor our amazing support staff. We thank Eric Stromberger, for all his help in every department, from holding the zoom anchor to trouble shooting sound, electric and lights to bringing treats from the Farmer's Market on Wed. Yvette McGuire, our trusted bookkeeper, continues to show up with efficiency, accuracy and incredibly good vibes. Paloma Carmona, our mistress of creative manifestation, continues to wave the wand of her poster magic, and keep our social media presence updated. And of course, we extend gratitude to our trusted Board of Directors, listed below.

This year, we give an extra shout out for Sue Coulter for her services above and beyond. Sue has consistently jumped in and showed up in all kinds of perfect-timing ways to help and assist our projects here. She was the visionary responsible for the showing of the movie “Microplastic Madness” presented in the yurt in May. She also created, organized, and publicized a beautiful concert and workshop for SH in August, featuring Reya Maya, a sacred songstress presenting her vision to sing back balance and healing for our earth with prayer, ritual and song. It was a truly lovely and powerful experience for all who attended.

In November we were fortunate to have astrologer David Nicol, present a day-long experiential workshop dedicated to helping participants dive deeper into the archetypal structures of power attributed to the planets and their placements in our birth charts and what that looks like in real time.

This was also the year Ron began working with the Cancer Resource Center again, and is now holding a monthly group for men only, dealing with the challenges and also the opportunities a life threatening diagnosis can invoke.

We are dreaming up a few new ideas for 2025. In order to better serve our community, hoping to present material exploring death, dying and grief. There are a few other things up our sleeves but a lot of that will be up to how the funding unfolds.

And so, it is with so many mixed emotions, we put out a call and last bid for your support.

In whatever way you have connected with Spirit House, we hope you received what was needed. May the benefit of your experience continue to support you. We thank you for your donations which helped defray the cost of the events you attended. While these contributions provided many candles, and much tea, flowers, propane, firewood and cookies they didn't cover all that it takes to keep Spirit House humming. Like any other organization, we incur ongoing costs for administration, advertising, internet, support materials, utilities, cleaning, facilitator fees, electrical equipment, repairs and office supplies. All ongoing maintenance and improvements can only be realized when funding is available through the generosity of our supporters.

For those of you who can assist us with our efforts before the year's end, we welcome your tax deductible donation to Spirit House Center for Attitudinal Healing. Contribute as a one time gift or make a monthly pledge. Donating is as easy as a couple of clicks……just visit our website at http://spirithousehealing.org/

We thank you in advance. Please know any amount will make a difference. We trust and believe the flow of your generosity will be returned to you.

May you know the essence of your being as love and receive the blessings of healing, healthy and harmonious connections. We are living in precarious and challenging times of extremes and change. We offer a sanctuary at Spirit House, a place to remember what is sacred and “Return to the memory of wholeness:” a place to remember our Selves and experience the vibrant energy of our true Being. We know as we support the light in each other we become agents of peace and bringers of harmony into our lives, our families, our community and this world.

We wish everyone an abundantly happy, healthy and heart-filled new year. May you find surfing the waves of this time an opportunity to practice an invigorating challenge, by discovering how to balance and where to find joy even in the turbulence of these wild transient times.

In Peace and with Gratitude,
   Ron Nadeau & Tonijean Bernbaum
