My apologies on a big delay in responding to your email.  We had electrical outages several times that week due to the atmospheric rivers.  Then Thanksgiving came and went.

Tenaya, who I interviewed, and her mom & I are headed to the central valley Sunday December 22nd-25th when I drive to pick Matthew up from SR airport.  We LOVE going to Gray Lodge.  The best thing will be to reach out when it's closer to the time.  We've got an airBnB in Oroville that we're staying at.  It'd be sweet to meet up with you at Gray Lodge.

What a fun talk on one of the current subjects for me over here in the great coast migration flyway – and winter home of many water fowl and cranes. Good to know you come this way every year. Maybe we can meet up! I plan to go down in the next month or so to Grey Lodge.



I was just down for two days hiking at the Sutter Buttes – or Middle Mountain. So fascinating a place for me. I see it from my kitchen window all the time so was very happy to be IN it. Love watching the habits of the birds on the water – and then they lift off in a circular whoosh of energy! Amazing!



I remember Tenaya from years ago when I had time with Thais before they went to Hawaii. Have seen her only a couple times since. And how wonderful to hear Tenaya’s enthusiasm for her studies and the world of water fowl. I must say I did get a very different view of hunters from her. I too had seen them as the enemy of birding. It was  good interview for me to hear. She sounds like quite a together young lady now.
