Mendocino Sister Cities Association (MSCA) would love to invite all of you
to our 2nd Annual Obon Festival.  We honor and celebrate the departed loved
ones in the Obon period in August, and YOU can experience an authentic
Japanese cultural event!  Please come and join us!

Date:  Saturday August 10th

Time:  Noon to 4 pm

Place:  Mendocino Rotary Park

Free Admission

All Welcome!



The stage performance includes Taiko drumming by MendoTaiko, traditional
Japanese music, Aikido demonstration, and Japanese dance.  At the end of
the evet, all are welcome to join a circle dance (traditional Bon Odori).
So, stick around.



We have Hands-on activities to learn Japanese culture, Japanese arts and
crafts to take home with you, and Japanese food to enjoy.

Furoshiki - Fabric Gift Wrapping

Gyotaku - Fish Printing

Ikebana - Japanese Style Flower Arrangement

Sumi Nagashi - Ink Marbling

Mask Making

Origami

Uchiwa - Japanese Fan Decoration

Face Painting
