The pain of Separation

I am always discovering myself
in the little corners
that had been left in the dark for so long.
I have felt the pain of separation
from the very beginning
but didn’t know I was born with it.
It became this underlying sadness
that ran like a gentle stream
over the bed of the multi-colored pebbles
from all the events of my life.
I didn’t know the name of so old a presence,
but it became a melancholy,
affectionate friend
enveloping me through the stages of life.

It’s only when I stop re acting
the suffering of the world
that I find contentment hidden behind it.
It’s only when I am totally empty of myself
that I find the truth of Self.
It’s only when I stop resisting the original pain
that Sin dissipates out of existence.
It’s only when I acknowledge the state of bliss
always existing
that an inexhaustible source of strength
is activated within.

I find myself to be
a resourceful being I can count on
to lead me to safety every step of the way,
opening the joyful path for me to step on
and keeping me inspired,
breathed in spirit,
pregnant with the love
                                                             of all I encounter.
