Te funny thing is , that the author is still hinting one narrative  as the right one... cautiosly packaged. Narrative is narrative...  we all see the world through our own lensing...THERE IS NO ABSOLUTE TRUTH...another   "truth" is  true for  each individual... 
The main thing is , that each individual  is in harmony and trust with his or her own adopted view of things. That is healthy!And  one can  except , that for the other , something else is true.  Then not even love is needed to forgive the other's mistaken views. Because there are no mistaken views here. For the individual his or her view is the right one. I learned it from a great book ;-).  : all events are neutral...
