Melissa Lucio was sentenced to death in 2008 for the murder of her 2-year-old daughter Mariah — a crime that never occurred. Mariah died after accidentally falling down a flight of stairs while the family was moving homes.

But police took Melissa into custody and, on the night of her daughter’s death, aggressively interrogated her for hours. Exhausted and grieving, Melissa eventually said, “I guess I did it,” and made other inadvertent admissions to end the questioning. Her statements were then characterized by a corrupt prosecution as a confession to murder.

Now, there are so many doubts about Melissa’s case and a lot of people are speaking out in support of clemency for the mother of 12 — but she’s still scheduled to be executed by the State of Texas on April 27.

We have just six days to stop her execution, so we need as many people as possible to know the facts about this case and spread the word.
