>
> The Child – To Zaryth my grandson
> I use ‘it’ when I refer to the Child because, like God, the Child has no gender.
> It is a powerful archetype, the Child in all of us, also maybe one of our neighbor’s kid.
>
> What are we offering to the appetite of a young child intent on discovery,
> the Child curious of everything?
> That Child who, like a butterfly, a sauntering little elf, a deva, a plant spirit
> explores its new world, inhaling the energy, soaking in the joy.
> What do we give that Child?
> What picture of our world do we offer it now? At this instant?
>
> The Child in Its unsteady wanderings
> initiates a constant return to the knowing of the plant kingdom
> ––a knowing on all levels, even those humanity does not yet know––
> the miracle of creation in each blade of grass,
> each dandelion seed floating in the wind, each iridescent dragonfly. . .
> In Its discovery adventure the Child absorbs the knowledge that every flower,
> every leaf, every rock, every object, every creature of the forest
> encompasses the creation of all worlds.
>
> Do we want to give the Child a ready made-picture, a stereotype,
> or a picture made of soft clay that It can remodel at all time
> into Its own creation, allowing everything It comes across
> to be the revelation of every instant?
>
> The Child hear the whispering that reveals the interactions,
> the transmission of energies, the cooperation that brings to completion
> the most exquisite fruit or flower, grass or mycelia, each with a story to tell:
>
> “It was my choice,” the plant tells the Child,
> “I had to decipher what exact combination would bring on,
> the nature, the shape, the color, the role I wanted to play
> on the canvasses humans offered, and produce my best creation.
> My likes and dislikes, my preferences had to be taken into account,
> my weaknesses I displayed shamelessly to get the human to serve me.
> ‘Give me just the right environment, the right combination of energies,’
> I tell my human gardener,
> ‘and I will provide you who has given me an identity, a name,
> with perfect beauty and deliciousness.
> And I get exactly what I need at all times, in all circumstances,
> because it’s a gift that comes with the acknowledgment of universal perfection.’”
>
> As for myself,
> the only true gift I can offer a child is to allow and support
> the discovery that takes It to the world of Its own true inner,
> and the pure beauty of that outer world It creates at each moment.
> And I will pave this path with the most delicious care I can offer:
> the gift of unity, the giving and receiving as one.
>
> As I explore the illusion with the curiosity of the Child
> It shows me that my heart sings the language of unity at all times
> and that I am here to learn to hear it.
