Lessons Learned

 

I’ve been thinking about how there is so much to know

and as I learn more, what I understand

is that there is always more to learn.

I’ve been recognizing how each and every thing I think

shapes my life; flavors how I feel and act,

how I do what I do.

I’ve been considering that there’s nothing to forgive,

because everything I have experienced

and everything I’ve done,

has brought me to where I am now.

I am in awe that I can choose to live a life

in which I no longer react to every obstacle

in a way that makes it undesirable.

 

I am learning to let go of struggle and resistance,

let go of what I no longer want to experience,

what no longer supports the me I want to be.

 

I am thankful for the challenges I’ve grown through,

the lessons learned,

the opportunities to transform, to renovate,

to cultivate change as I choose. 

 

I now know, by embracing life,

each moment holds the promise of a new story.

I realize I am the author of every line.

 

I am grateful

for each chapter done

and yet to come.
