Here it is!
Comrades and Neighbors and Forest Defenders--
· We have a lot of good news on the Forest Front and I'm not sure where to
start, except to say that our favorite 15 year-old activist Sorrell and her
mom climbed up into the Gemini Tree, a gorgeous baby grandma redwood,
presently ringed with a lei of dahlia flowers, 1/3 of a mile up from the
Caspar Kiosk. To avoid reinventing the wheel, I have attached Anna Marie's
Updates.
· We broke through the Redwood Curtain again and received great coverage
of our campaign to save JDSF in the Bay Area and beyond. Check out the SF
Gate Article

.
· There is some excellent news on the legislative front: Assemblymember
Jim Wood and State Senator Mike McGuire have FINALLY decided to push CAL
FIRE for a moratorium, and CAL FIRE is feeling so under attack that they
are sitting down at the table this coming week. Email McGuire and Wood to
thank them for taking up our cause, and email CAL FIRE, Newsom, and
Crowfoot to remind them that Democracy means listening to the people--not
the timber industry. Moratorium now! All relevant contact info can be
found at our website, linked below.
· We have a spinoff podcast: *Disquiet on the Western Front: Voices from
the Forest Resistance. *It and all of our radio, voice, print, and video
material can be found on our Media Links Page
<https://www.mendocinotrailstewards.org/media-links>
· We still want you to comment on the Boundary Creek timber harvest plan
if you haven't already done so. Even if we can't get an official
moratorium, if they can't approve a new THP, then we are doing the work for
them... though it is a lot of work to comment on each new THP. Check
out Boundary
Creek Primer
<https://drive.google.com/open?id=1pu4Sml1jjyp83y0elc6Rsk9rq62yivdC> for
how to comment.
*Democracy... it may take a lot of work, but consider the alternative:*
