Meeting Tomorrow

Here is a brief reminder and details about the Zoom call Tomorrow morning at 9:00 AM.

We're unveiling the initial results form the survey!  Last I checked there are 188 responses.  We'll look at the summarized pie charts for some of the key questions.

We're going to hear from the Covid Awareness Project Coordinator, Jane Bermudez. Volunteer opportunities. A lot of exciting things happening in that space, including distribution of 1,000 masks!

Pandemic Fatigue

We at CRN understand that Pandemic Fatigue is a real thing, because we feel it too.

I often find myself asking, how to prioritize my energy? For one, I've been wondering where things stand with COVID on surfaces. Gregory Barbor of Wired wrote an article  <https://covidresponsenetwork.us17.list-manage.com/track/click?u=45b54c1e94622107c91a12d0f&id=0df0d1ba2e&e=0390527ac3>about this topic that looks pretty good but I have not read it in detail yet.  And Elizabeth Chang of the Washington Post wrote one too <https://covidresponsenetwork.us17.list-manage.com/track/click?u=45b54c1e94622107c91a12d0f&id=61ccf0b197&e=0390527ac3>. If anyone does read one or both and wants to briefly summarize it/them for the rest of us in a Network meeting (like tomorrow maybe?), we're all ears. Slides welcome of course, but not needed.

Also, how to deal with the personal psychology of a Pandemic Winter? Among many things, it talks about the importance of having a purpose.  Of course, becoming a CRN Colleague is a great purpose!   Also, if anyone tries out the citizen science project of CoCoRaHas, or the one about predicting the spread of Covid, please report out at a meeting.

As many of you are aware The Covid Response Network <https://covidresponsenetwork.us17.list-manage.com/track/click?u=45b54c1e94622107c91a12d0f&id=379a9b6ba0&e=0390527ac3> has already made a significant contribution towards protecting our coastal community, by early in the  pandemic,  strongly, and successfully, encouraging County leadership with regard to publicizing  masking wearing and social distancing.  As a result of the mask wearing and social distancing campaign we have kept our infection rate, here on the coast, quite low.

Phase two of the Covid Response Network <https://covidresponsenetwork.us17.list-manage.com/track/click?u=45b54c1e94622107c91a12d0f&id=63e20e11e9&e=0390527ac3> will be the Coastal Resilience Network which will work to adequately  preparing  us, in advance,  for the next major event which could include food shortages.  We are building our citizens group  organization now, so we will not be caught off guard ever again,  should leadership should  fail us.  Our goal is to keep everyone, fed, housed and with proper medical care.  We are all family!

Two people have pledged $5000 each when we raise an additional $5000.  This morning, at the Fort Bragg Junto, $3000 was pledged.  We now need just $2000 more to get an additional  $10,000.

This just in! The drive-through testing at Mendocino Coast Clinics that was supposed to be solid until January is suddenly under threat.  More on that tomorrow and as I understand more.
