Why I Teach

I am sitting with my 
brothers and sisters 
lovers and friends.
Words fall from 
this empty mouth 
into the clean air, 
thrown like seeds
onto the fertile ground.
The core is waiting 
to be open and exposed, 
eaten and digested.

I am talking to you
dear one
yes you
the hidden one.
Your stomach is empty and hungry,
I know well the pain of deprivation
the mouth that cannot swallow
the parched throat that cannot drink.

I am talking to you,
I have not forgotten you,
I am sitting beside you.
I have seeds to eat
and sweet milk to drink,
but you must take them.

You need not chew or swallow.
You can take my offering
directly into the Heart,
let it burst open wide
and throw stars across space.

I will wait for you
my brother
my sister
my lover
my friend.
I was sent for you
to expose you to yourself.
