Deadline for public comment is 23 December on the Mitchell Creek THP

I’ve included the addresses of “the Powers that be” Please send everyone you can think of a copy and encourage your neighbors to write. Don’t forget to put. THP:1-20-00168MEN"Mitchell Creek in the subject line.

If you’ve already written, please send copies to the Powers that Be. I’ve attached possible talking points and apologize that it is a draft. Time is too short to worry about that.

Trail Stewards--

I am writing to urge you to submit your comments on the MItchell Creek and Little North Fork Big River Timber Harvest Plans. Unless something happens to extend the comment period, the last day for Mitchell is Wednesday the 23rd of December. The Little North Fork Plan comment period is closing on New Year's Day.

Check out our website for more information on how to submit your comments: www.mendocinotrailstewards.org<http://www.mendocinotrailstewards.org>

If, like many people, you don't feel qualified, don't worry! Your letter may not get a scientific review, but it will put Cal Fire on notice that you are another person against expanded logging in West JDSF. In the Timber Harvest Comments of our website are other options for expressing your opinion. There is also a link to the Environmental Protection Information Center's petition for the Mitchell Creek plan.

The photos of two young Northern Spotted Owls and a Red Legged Frog, species listed as either threatened or endangered, and which occur in or near these two THPs. We will soon be proudly featuring Jon Klein's work on our website, alongside another local photographer, Art Mielke.

Thanks for being a part of this!

Chad Swimmer, President, MTS
