I want to add that it is a true story and Riantee's son and his wife still have Mimi.  The illustrations are really great (by Carolyn's husband, Richard Weiss).  It is my choice gift to cat lover friends of mine.

However she wants to decide for herself who her new master will be. She sets her sights on a couple recently settled in the neighborhood, but!encounters!many trials on her journey to get a home she could call her own. And she won’t stop at anything to get her way.
