Dear Friends,

By now, I expect most of you have had time to read our inaugural newsletter. I think that the Foundation is off to an excellent start and look forward to its growth in the coming years. Due to contributions from a few very generous supporters we have been able to award meaningful financial assistance to deserving students in both the first and second years of the College of the Redwoods Fine Woodworking Program, begin the archiving of the work of James Krenov, support the exhibit of student work at galleries in San Francisco and elsewhere, and initiate the presentation of the Krenov Foundation Award at the 2015 Sonoma County Woodworkers show.

In future years I am hopeful that we can not only expand upon our current initiatives but also take additional steps to support the craft of fine woodworking in California. With that in mind we are initiating an Annual Giving Solicitation. I recognize that while fine woodworking may provide tremendous personal satisfaction, large financial rewards do not always follow. Whatever you can give will be used wisely, and sincerely appreciated.

You can make a contribution through our website: http://www.thekrenovfoundation.org/get-involved/, or contributions may be mailed to the address below. If you wish to contribute via automatic funds transfer from an existing bank account, please contact the Foundation’s Treasurer, Linda Turner, at the address below or by telephone at 707-964-7422.

For those of you who want to be assured that your donation will be used exclusively for student financial aid please let us know when you contribute.

As mentioned in the Newsletter we were incorporated in the State of California as a Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation on November 15, 2013. We applied for and received status as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit as defined by the United States Internal Revenue Code, which means that donations to the Foundation are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

In closing please accept my sincere thanks on behalf of the entire Foundation for your generous support.

Sincerely,

Laura Mays
Foundation President
