An ally in the coastal hills is trying to protect an area, and a very special road from a timber harvest plan (yet another timber harvest plan) that will wreak havoc on a beautifully preserved forest area.

This is a last call to see if any of you would like to add your name to the letter to CalFire that calls for protection of our treasured local road. A reply with the word “yes” is all it would take. (spell your name if your email address does not)

If you feel you can support this letter …. type YES and return it before the Friday night deadline!

That’s all.

Chris’ explanation and his attached letter to CalFire are below …

take good care. I count among my greatest blessings the dedicated people of Sonoma County who never, ever give up.

Hi Folks,
Thank you to the Mill Valley Peter fans for putting the memorial bike ride together and also living in one of the most beautiful places in the world.

I am contacting you (and hopefully Peter in spirit) today to see if you could help protect a favorite road of Peter’s and those of you lucky enough to have ridden it up here in the Sea Ranch area. Annapolis road. The road’s viewshed is being threatened by ill-conceived timber harvest plans submitted by a local timber company. I am hoping you can review the materials in the links below and consider adding your voice by writing your own letter to submit online or to have me add your name and any location you want associated with you to the bottom of a letter being sent in to CalFire who is reviewing the plans.
I am hoping that we can collectively lobby CalFire and our local supervisor Lynda Hopkins to step in and minimally provide some scenic buffers for the road to preserve this beautiful ride.

A couple of options to help. One or the other or both!:

A.) Here is the link to our local website page. You could pen a short letter as suggested and send it to the two addresses featured:

B.) Here is the letter I’ve drafted to send in to Calfire. It is in their “speak”. You could send me an ok to add your name to the bottom:

Thank you, Cheers, and a hats off and deep bow to Peter,

Chris
Annapolis, Sonoma County
