Hello Rotarians, today we got a lot done for the community center, and had fun to boot. Gary Hopper took the technical lead, placing almost a hundred pickets on our fence while John Cottle and I looked after attachments and making it all work. Trevor showed up in time to help us demolish the old fence along Pine Street, while Travis helped remove debris and placed it near the community center shed. We saw and talked with people walking their dogs, others walking themselves, and in the end we had all the fence along School Street looking really good.
Matt's team will load and take to the dump all the debris, Travis and Sam will level the next stage for placement of posts and stringers, and volunteers to be identified will be cutting and light sanding posts and pickets for the next stage.
I think it looks really good, and hope you do too.
We can now talk with the Interact Club about painting the School St section, should be enough work for 4-6. Anyone want to take the lead in this?
Our most time-consuming task remains priming of pickets. Let me know if you can take on say 30-60 pickets.
Photos attached, thanks to all who helped out.
