Dear Fort Bragg, Gualala and Mendocino Rotary Leaders,

As we prepare for the *Rotary District 5130 End Polio Now Torch Relay*, I
would like to arrange a meeting with your clubs for a brief organizational
meeting to coordinate the opening portion of this exciting District-wide
event.

The Torch Relay will begin in *Crescent City on October 2* and then make
its way south to Arcata on October 3.

During our meeting, we will discuss:

   -

   Crescent City kickoff and opening ceremony
   -

   Torch handoff and route
   -

   Opportunities for club and community participation
   -

   Walkers, volunteers, youth, Interact, and community partners
   -

   Local event ideas and publicity opportunities
   -

   Registration and fundraising
   -

   Transportation and logistics for moving the torch between communities
   -

   Coordination with the next clubs along the route
   -

   Next steps and responsibilities

*Proposed Meeting: *
Tomorrow Tuesday August 18 after 5PM
Wednesday August 19 2-5 PM
Monday August 24 after 5 PM

Please reply with your availability and let me know who from your club
should participate in the planning meeting. Club presidents, Torch Relay
liaisons, event coordinators, membership/public image representatives, and
other interested Rotarians are welcome.

This North Coast kickoff will set the tone for the entire District 5130
relay, and I’m excited to work together to create a memorable start to our
journey toward *World Polio Day*.

Thank you for helping us carry the torch—and Rotary’s commitment to ending
polio—across District 5130!
