[Rotary] Subject: Notes of Meeting of 6/6/24

Dear Rotarians, 
A Board meeting was held on June 6, 2024. Club Members present included President Wade, Secretary Jeff, Club Services Chair John, photographer Leona Walden and International Chair and mellow person Matt O'Halloran, a total of 4 Board members. In addition to club members, a guest, Mark Ziafinen, also attended. 
Toby opened the meeting and it was determined we did not have a quorum, hence the Board could not make decisions. He reported that the Caspar Kings would play at the 4th of July, and suggested we could seek donations from members and the community. Jeff said he would donate $100 and would suggested any other club members who wished to help out would be more than welcome. Leona presented the progress on the Dinner Raffle, urging members to get out there and sell tickets. 
Toby congratulated Donna on what she had done with Youth, and said he felt privileged to have met this year's scholarship awardees.
We went around the table and explained to our guest Mark what the club does. From the discussion it was readily apparent that we are a small club that does a lot.  Matt showed the group an excellent slide show of the work the club has done in Fiji and Vanuatu which we hope can be presented to members some time.
Jeff noted that it was time to identify and prepare our next district grant project, which had to be submitted by end of July. 
We did not collect fees or fines.
Our next meeting would be June 13, with speaker Paul Garza, the Chair of the Mendocino Coast Health Care District. His talk is noted in the Beacon. I have been getting inquiries from friends about attending, and hope other members have been getting similar inquiries. Lets call our friends and colleagues, and encourage them to come for Paul's talk which should help point the way toward sustainable provision of hospital services on the Coast.
