Folks,
I had a talk with Brandt today, and we agreed that this is (as Ray suggests) a big enough issue that we should look at it thoroughly.
We should for obvious reasons not bring it up next Thursday when we will host the Interact Club.
We can discuss the issue beginning the first meeting of February, which will be February 2, and aim to present a proposal to the Board on March 2.
In the meantime, please give the matter some thought and see what you would like to happen--reduce costs including of the lunch raffle; increase lunch dues, happy dollars and fines; increase annual dues; and increase voluntary contributions.
Lets aim for a balanced solution. Cheers, Jeff Stubbs, SecretaryRotary Club of Mendocino P.O. Box 102 Mendocino, CA 95460

Dear Rotarians:I have come to realize that we are falling quite short on upcoming fiscal issues. Please read following message from Treasurer Brandt.
I propose the following:We raise the weeking meeting fee to either $12 or $15 per member per meeting. I want this to begin at our January 25, 2024 meeting.
This suggestion is vital to meet our obligations. I am not sure if it needs board approval. If anyone has an issue with this or feel it is personably unaffordable I stand ready to listen privately.
Sincerely,R Anthony 'Toby' WadePresidentRotary Club of Mendocino707-357-3995
If it does we will make it voluntary until so approved

Hi Toby, Jeff, and John,
Following our meeting last week Larry and I have discussed reinstituting a separate admin account. Deposits into this account will include our regular weekly collections ( mtg dues and happy dollars) and overage we collect from our membership collection. As noted below currently that is about $100 / member.
Unfortunately, to fund our various admin expenses including PETS and, currently, improved audio/visual set up we will have a short fall for this year. Larry has illustrated below how another club in our district funds admin.
Another potential source of funds is the Mendocino Rotary Foundation. Their Bylaws provide that they are to support our club.

Subject: rotary dues
Brandt, FYI
Your $240 dues per member adequately collects for paying International and District dues of about $150 ($99.32 + 50 + 0.68 rounding).
The Rotary International dues is approx. $99.32 per member which consists of:
First half-year $37.50
Second half $37.50
RI Magazine half $ 9.00
RI Mag half $ 9.00
Council $ 1.50
Liab Insce $ 4.82
The Rotary District 5130 dues is about $50 per member
For comparison, pasted below is how another Club within District 5130 (here, Rohnert Park-Cotati) outlines its annual dues of $600 per member. Instead of weekly meeting collections, they seem to assess additional dues of $450 from each member, in additional to the usual amounts for Rotary Int’l and District Dues.
