[Rotary] Student Donation Drive

Hello All,

Dana Grey Elementary School (3rd - 5th) is holding a "Student Donation
Drive" on behalf of all students in the Ft Bragg Unified School District on
Saturday January 27th from 1pm-3pm. Items requested are for basic
hygiene products. Please see attached flyer. *You can also drop
products/donations off here to the Engel & Völkers office by Thursday,
January 25th.*

Please read the letter below that was written by one of our Engel & Völkers
advisors (and future Mendo Rotarian) Kelley Urbani:
*"Background story: Both my parents were teachers of our schools in Fort
Bragg. Growing up we had many less fortunate kids stay with us from time to
time, outfitted them with old clothes, donated small items, had kids over
for dinners, packed extra lunches, etc. It was truly a revolving door of
helping others.*

*The ONE MAJOR RULE: Never point out who was there, who received a hand
"up", who was wearing your old clothes, or who was staying with us. We
ALWAYS respected the families/kids' privacy. My parents were very strict
about protecting the privacy of the other families that may be struggling.*

*For some reason I LOVED being a "secret helper" and I'm grateful they were
an example of this kind of generosity... TIME TO PAY IT FORWARD.*

*I KNOW these items go a long way to helping kids come to school with self
respect and not having to battle the distraction over dirty clothes, hair,
and bodies. LET'S GIVE OUR CHILDREN THE BEST OPPORTUNITY FOR LEARNING.*

*Time to clean out your cupboards!*

*One extra tube of toothpaste from Costco you never used?*

*Small unused hotel toiletries??!*

*Feminine hygiene products*

*An extra bottle of laundry soap?!?*
*PLEASE DONATE!"*

Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions and thank you in
advance if you are able to donate. *This would also be a good project to
keep in mind for our Rotary Club to organize for students going back to
school in the Fall.
