[Rotary] Subject: International Service Milestones

Colleagues, 
I have good news on two fronts: 
First, our projects in Fiji and Vanuatu have been completed, and we can be very proud of what we have done there. In both cases local individuals and suppliers have advanced the money needed which now needs to be paid. I will be submitting a proposal for these payments to our Board before its next meeting. 
Our district's international assistance coordinating chair, Rico Salvador of Ukiah Rotary, held a zoom meeting on Monday which was attended by a few international service persons and the President-elects of many of our district clubs interested in international work. During the meeting, it emerged that our projects in Vanuatu and Fiji have been identified as models for additional work in the South Pacific, along with model projects of other clubs in Haiti, Nepal and Mexico. 
The Rotary International Conference is May 27-31, in Australia, which presents an opportunity for Rotarians to travel to Vanuatu and Fiji, Australia and New Zealand.
