I was under the impression we had a specific line item in the budget for disaster relief/needs. If that is not the case is the "other events" line item for this purpose?Moving forward I believe we need to have a specific line item in our budget for disasters or emergency issues.Ray AlarconAlarcon Ins AgencyPO Box 2539Mendocino, CA 95460707-937-5050CA Lic#0B68172

Could use $1000 or so to fund a band or bands or other entertainment sell hot dogs sell dinner tickets etc and use the proceeds for Maui. But it needs to happen in September. Also, it would be a good idea to put this on our Rotary's social media. I have posted it on my personal social media as well. If the public knows of a place to give, I believe they will.Something else to think about would be to reach out to Meredith and see of she would like to brainstorm a fundraising event that we could do at the park ("Sending Aloha to Maui"). I believe Mendocino has a troupe of Hula dancers, and we did have the Hawiian musician come play at Crown Hall so this community does have heart for Hawaii... or at the very least get the word out about the Rotary Maui Fund via local newspaper and flyers in local businesses. This is off the top of my head two-cents.Margaret BlackMarketing Advisor ConciergeENGEL&VÖLKERSMendocino10483 Lansing StreetMendocino, CA 95460USAO +1 707-937-5071C +1 707-972-9855margaret.black at evrealestate.commendocino.evrealestate.com

If we allocate all of that budget line item to Maui we will not have anything left for anything else that may come up. And if I were a betting person I would say there will be more scenarios in need.We could always try and utilize Margaret's idea of reaching out to the community for donations.Ray AlarconAlarcon Ins AgencyPO Box 2539Mendocino, CA 95460707-937-5050CA Lic#0B68172-------- Original message --------From: Jerry Karabensh via Rotary <rotary at lists.mcn.org> Date: 8/11/23 10:09 AM (GMT-08:00) To: biseball <biseball at aol.com> Cc: Rotary of Mendocino <rotary at lists.mcn.org>, Tom Boylan <tom at boylanpoint.com> Subject: Re: [Rotary] Maui Fires Relief Fund Yes, As much as we can spare, but at least $1000.JerryOn 2023-08-10 3:10 pm, biseball via Rotary wrote:> Dear Rotarians:> > In our Club Meeting today we spoke informally about the tragic fires> in Maui.
