[Rotary] Rotary - Support for an Afghan College Student

Dear Carolyn, 
Thank you for reaching out to us, and please say hello to Kate. As Toby said, Kate made a wonderful presentation to our club, and we were able to mobilize $1,000 in club funds as well as personal donations to help  Zaafirah get out of Afghanistan. We are sorry to learn of the difficulties she has faced, but our hearts are warmed by Kate's dedication to helping her and her family. 
I am circulating this to our club members, as well as two Fort Bragg Rotarians and those non-Rotarians who donated last year, in the hope that some of us would like to contribute to this effort. 
Please say hello to Kate for us, and we hope this effort will bring in some of the much-needed support for Zaafirah.

My name is Carolyn Welch and I am the Treasurer for South Ukiah Rotary.  I have been working with Kate Ruprecht on this.  I am attaching a GoFundMe request that I am asking you to distribute to your Club members.  This is an ask for donations to support a young Afghan woman’s emigration to Canada.  The funds need to be raised by October 28, to be held in trust for her first year expenses.
