  Dear Jerold,

The District 5130 Nominating Committee is seeking nominations for
District Governor for the 2025-2026 Rotary year.

While we understand that not every Rotarian is interested in being a
District Governor, this announcement is being sent to all 5130 Rotarians
to ensure all qualified applicants have an opportunity to apply and to
make all 5130 Rotarians aware of the process. In addition, even if you
yourself are not interested at this time, it allows you to encourage
good candidates to apply.

The District Governor is the official officer of Rotary International in
the district. The Governor is responsible for administering the district
and motivating and supporting Rotary clubs and Rotarians. For a complete
description of the duties, please refer to the attached District
Governor’s Manual.

The minimum requirements to apply are:

  	* Must have been a member of Rotary for at least seven years by the
start of the Governor term (July 1, 2025)
  	* Must have completed a full year of service as a Rotary Club
President

  Previous knowledge and involvement in Club and District 5130 activities
helps the prospective Governor be better prepared to serve.

Rotary International and our Rotary Zone provide three weeks of
invaluable training over the two and a half years between selection and
the beginning of the Governor term. In addition, all the resources and
support of the District 5130 Board of Directors and the Past District
Governors are available to make sure Governors are fully prepared to
take office.

PLEASE NOTE:

  	* To apply, the prospective applicant’s CLUB must nominate the
applicant and submit the attached nomination form to the Nominating
Committee Chair.
  	* The club nominee must also submit a Rotary Resume. You may use the
attached template or use your own, as long as it covers the same
elements.
  	* After the deadline for nominations, each nominee will receive an
appointment time for the interview, currently expected to be a Zoom
Video meeting.

  The Timeline is as follows:

  	* Nominations and resumés due by email or postmarked by U.S. mail to
the Nominating Committee Chair, PDG Kathy Flamson, by 5:00 PM PST,
10/28/2022
  	* Interviews for Governor 11/05/2022 (tentative date)
  	* Candidates informed of the committee decision 11/06/2022 (tentative
date)
