Hi Donna, Dean and Rotarians,
I was sorry to hear about Joe's death and Ruth's medical condition. Both
of them were very active in Rotary. We should find some way of honoring
them. However, I do not agree to placing a bench in Rotary Park. Over
the years we have lost many members via death and have not addressed
their contributions in a permanent way. I suggest we create some way to
honor all our past members who have passed on. I think a permanent
plaque with each member recognized with Birth and Death Dates and
whether they were a President of the Club and/or a special recognition,
such as for Joe, He Founded the Mendocino Rotary Interact Club. That
plaque could be placed in Rotary Park. We should not rush into
recognizing our members who have passed on. Let's discuss this at both
an upcoming Board and Club meeting.
