Jerry,
Thanks for your comments and your concern that we have officers determined soon. We all have that concern, which is why we are having a retreat. It is not a reason for not having a retreat.
We have yet to flesh out a full agenda, but our thinking is that the retreat will be a meeting of persons with long term and in-depth knowledge of the club, such as yourself, Harold, Gary and others, as well as those who will have a role in making the club work during the next year, when we will face continued aging of our members, and shrinkage of membership due to age and other factors, while at the same time we bring in new and younger members, and get them up to speed on club activities.
Here is a possible agenda:
Morning session (10:00-12:00)
-A longer term retrospective: what has worked and not worked;
-Our current club configuration: can we continue it or do we need to adjust, where and how?
-A draft club structure and budget
Lunch
-Summary and action plan
During the last year we have lost our Foundation Chair, we did not have a Membership Chair or a Club Services Chair and we may lose our Community Services Chair if he shifts to Club Services. Parts of our budget are unused. We are lucky that a person such as Leona Walden has stepped forward to help with photography, the raffle and scholarship awards. Attendance at meetings is down even as compared to the worst time of the pandemic. Several of us including yourself are holding down several positions in the club, and my impression is that we are getting overcommitted in terms of what we want to do versus what we can practically do. Perhaps better to do what we do well, rather than try to do too much.
Let us be clear: this club could collapse unless we organize to save it. We need all hands on deck.
Hence the need for a retreat, which we hope all those with experience and a stake in the club will attend.
We can talk more about when at our meeting today, but based upon responses received we are thinking Saturday June 18.
Cheers,
Jeff Stubbs

Hi Club Members,
Out of town on the 10th and 11th. OK for 17th or 18th. Film Festival
is June 2-5, therefore, 4th and 5th are no good.
Will continue as PR Chair and on Park Committee.
I feel we definitely need ONE President for the year. Club Bylaws
states that one of the Officers is a President. Bylaws are up to date
no need to revise.
I hope we have determined our Board members for 2022-2023 and they will
attend the meeting. If not, I don't think we should have one until we
have determined a President and Board Members.
