Carsten and Susanne have taken a Ukrainian mother and her two children into
their home.
Their father stayed behind.  These are families fighting for freedom, which
we are blessed to have in abundance.

Dear Betty & John,

Thank you for your generosity and your efforts. We will continue our help
projects for the Ukraine. It is a fast moving situation and we will provide
relief to those situations where states do not do. The refugees support of
psychological help to children, sport activities for children and books are
things we organize local from our club. Medication and basic support are
continuing inside Ukraine according to the situation on the ground there.
Our help goes into the North and is used in civilian shelters and hospitals.

On the pictures attached you see Zakhar in his new hoodie from the
Starnberg elementary school. The others show our storage for medication,
where we repack everything, label it in German, English, Russian and
Ukraine and make it customs clear. The mainly spoken language in Ukraine
among below age 50 Ukrainians is Russian, do not wonder. The pdf is one of
the bills we paid for medication. You can be sure that every single cent is
used wisely in Rotarian rules and spirit and according to the strict German
nonprofit laws. We follow up everything and are stubborn pain in the asses
(Susanne and another Rotarian friend, former head of internal compliance
and audit at Munich Re, check everything to excess) to do everything super
compliant and correct.

This horrible war is not over yet and we continue to help and relief. We
want to know where we help, that every cent is used for help so we do not
pile up other organizations. I will tell you, when we are going to slow
down. There is a district fund in our district 1841 dedicated to Ukraine
where we might give leftover money in the future, but not now.

I hope that keeps you motivated. It means so much to us. Susanne and I can
not be prouder of our Rotary clubs and all our friends. We feel small.

Money continues to come in.  You have another wire coming, nearly $20,000
USD and hope it goes out in a few days.  Most of that came from Tim at
Harvest Market.

So good of you to house a mom and her children, you have such open hearts
and generous spirits.

Will your club continue to do relief, and be needing more funds next month?

Please let us know how the money is being spent, not that we aren't certain
you are using it wisely, but when we can report exactly how it is spent
some people give more generously.  If it is mostly the same as before you
don't need to repeat it all.

If your club is finished with this project, is Doctors Without Borders one
of the best groups to receive it?

We are proud that you, our excellent friends, have done so much to help
those in such desperate need.
