[Rotary] Subject: Covid 19 Vaccinations Today

There is now a tab in the Mendocino County Covid 19 website that is for vaccinations and when you click on it you can see what is scheduled. It shows for example the clinic yesterday at the school. I do not know how long in advance of such a clinic the site allows you to sign up for a first dose.
Right now the emphasis seems to be on in-home health service (IHSS) providers and those needing a second shot. One of the people at the clinic yesterday said they still do not know when they will get a shipment from the state, so therefore cannot schedule much in advance.
On television channel 4 (the Bay Area channel) it was announced that CVS will begin making appointments but I do not know if this applies to our local CVS or not.

 I just drove to the school and there is/was a clinic today, in the High School gym, for home care givers and general public over 85. They accepted applications from walk-ins but had few cancellations so by 2:30 they were not accepting any more. They are now waiting for more doses from the State.  I got a call from Leonardo Bowers today Tuesday February 2 at about 2:20 pm saying that vaccinations are being given at Mendocino High School gym now and they have excess doses that may be available to walk-ins. 
Leonardo says that Ted Williams, our County Supervisor, may have further information. His number is 937-3900.
